Music Ministry

Saint Agnes Church has an exciting and active Music Ministry providing the Arlington area worshipping community with varied music leadership serving our Saturday 4:00 P.M. (upstairs) and Sunday morning 9:00, 10:30 and Noon liturgies, in addition to providing music for Memorial Masses, Weddings and certain Feast Days and Holy Days.

Our 60-voice ADULT CHOIR rehearses, September through May, each Tuesday evening in the choir loft in the upper church from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM. Along with professional brass and stringed instrument players, our adult choir leads the music during our beautiful Christmas and Holy Week liturgies.  The choir performs a Christmas Concert each year immediately prior to the 4:00 PM Christmas Eve mass, beginning at 3:15.  Call or email our Music Director if you would like to sing with our choir or simply show up at a Tuesday evening rehearsal!  No audition is required, however some singing experience is preferred.

Our grades 1-8 CHILDREN'S CHOIR, led by Maura Lynch and assisted by Diane Stickles, rehearses and immediately afterward sings at mass on two Sundays each month, October through May.  On those dates we rehearse in the upper church at 8:00 A.M. and then lead the music at our 9:00 A.M. Family Mass.  They also sing each year at our Christmas Eve Family Mass at 6:00 PM.  The kids sing with great spirit and energy and truly help make our Family Mass the place to be on Sunday mornings!  All children currently in grades 1 through 8 are welcome without audition or prior music experience.  Call or email our Music Director to obtain a copy of this year’s children’s choir schedule.

We are privileged to have on our MUSIC STAFF some very talented liturgical musicians:  Kimberly Howe-Organist/Pianist;  Michael Gallagher-Cantor;  Maura Lynch-Children's Choir Director and Cantor;  Andrea Loretz-Frey-Cantor;  Paul Madden-Cantor;  and Michael Vaughan-Music Director, Organist/Pianist, Cantor.
